This Elephant & Wildlife Photography Workshop is over 4 nights / 5 days at Tembe Elephant Park. The workshop is limited to 6 guests and is guided by professional photographer Rory Baker offering daily coaching in the field and in the classroom so you can take your photography to new levels..
Tembe is home to The Big Five including some of Africa's bigest Tuskers. Also there are more than 340 bird species and myriad of other plants and animals. It is a world of hot silence and white sand, where the busy modern world ceases to exist and only the rising and setting of the sun marks the passage of time. It is also the ancestral home of the Tembe people
Tembe Elephant Park is a place where wild elephants still roam, and part of the legendary Ivory Route where the great tuskers still tramp their ancient pathways through dense sand-forest and tall yellow grass. The park is a 300 square kilometer reserve between Zululand and Mozambique, home to some of Africa's largest elephants as well as the smallest antelope, the suni.
All guests to arrive at Tembe Elephant Park by 12:00pm with own transport. All details including map will be provided when making a booking.
After settling in we will meet for a pre-lunch short presentation and introduction what will be done over the coming days. After lunch in the main dinning area we head off on our first open photography game drive session.
Weather conditions play a huge roll in the actual day-to-day activities schedules, we wait until we know what the weather is going to do and then decide on the next day's itinerary.
Each day we will do photography talks and editing sessions in a private area in the camp for about 2 hours between game drives.
Early mornings and evenings in the field or on game drives will include coffee and rusks with adequate water available during the daytime excursions in the bush.
Each day we will have breakfast, lunch and dinner at the main dining area or in an exclusive area are set aside for our workshop. On the days when we may be out for early sunrise or night photography arrangements will be made to compensate with a snack or meal in the bush.
Each evening at dinner we discuss the next days activities based on weather conditions.
